Metro Monthly Pass to be launched
• The Hyderabad Metro has decided to launch monthly pass to the public.
• It is a common policy to work along with RTC.
• Still the metro time table has to be set based upon the RTC timings & MMTS timings so that it has to be very convenient to the public.
• Currently the metro operations(service to the public) are runned in between 6 AM to 10 PM.
• Based upon the demand & the traffic the metro timings will be revised.
• As per the first month analysis over 34 lakh people travelled through metro train.
• Despite the daily average travelling over one lakh in metro, this number is likely to rise in the future.
• In April 2011, the price band was fixed in between 8/- to 19/-. In March 2016 the municipal minister addressed that the prices will increase as per the existing market costs. Due to the delay in the project they are still indications that the price would still increase from 20/- to 50/-.
• Mr NVS Reddy told “We will build skyways to help Metro commuters to avoid crossing the roads to enter or exit the stations. RTC buses will be given priority to provide transportation for commuters at Metro Rail stations.”
